Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering


To create and develop professional and intellectual human capital in electronics and communication engineering and applications in order to foster the technological, economic and social enrichment of the state and the nation and to contribute to global village connectivity.


  • To play professional role to create, develop, organize and manage complex technologies and products, contribute to the betterment of society and evolve better quality of living in a world increasingly influenced by scientific and technological innovation.
  • To provide students of ECE an environment of academic freedom that will ensure the exchange of ideas and the dissemination of knowledge in this discipline.
  • To recognize as a place that encourages research excellence and diversity in thought and endeavor in multidisciplinary applications.

About the Department

        The Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) department was established in the year 2006. The department offers an Under Graduate (UG) program in Electronics and Communication Engineering, a full time Post Graduate (PG) program in Digital Electronics and Communication Systems and a part-time PG program in Digital Electronics and Communication Systems which provide a platform for bright graduates and to conduct research in state-of-the-art technologies.

        The B.Tech in ECE at JNTUA College of Engineering Pulivendula is one of the most sought after programs in the state of Andhra Pradesh and attracts top 5% students qualifying in the Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (AP EAMCET).  The M.Tech program is also equally sought after by the students qualifying in GATE and PGECET examinations. The students of the department have been consistently securing top ranks in national competitive examinations such as GATE and CAT. Students from the department are regularly placed in several National and International companies, Indian Public Sector companies as well as Multinational companies working in the IT and Financial sectors. About 40% of the graduates pursue post graduate and doctoral studies in the top-rated Universities in India and abroad. Our students have consistently secured admissions to top rated institutions such as Indian Institute of Sciences-Bangalore, University of New York at Buffalo, Illinois Institute of Technology at Chicago, Osaka University (to name a few) in the recent past.

          The major goal of the Department of ECE is to produce highly knowledgeable, competent and resourceful young engineers who can perform well in a wide variety of job profiles. To achieve this, curriculum provides a strong foundation in both the analytic and technological aspects of ECE. It also provides ample opportunities to students to work on mini-projects, develop communication skills, explore internship opportunities in industry and take part in national and international design contests.

           The department is functioning with 16 faculty members among whom, 2 are Ph.D holders and one is pursuing Ph.D and remaining are M.Tech holders from reputed universities.

Faculty attend workshops, conferences and faculty development programmes being conducted at IITs, IIMs, NITs and Universities and published papers in reputed national and international journals.

              The department has adequate hardware to support academic and research related activities. Analytical and simulation tools like Cadence, Xilinx, Multisim, MATLAB, CCStudio, ARM cortex are available to carry research activities.

              The department is also established Texas Instruments Centre of Excellence facility in Linear Integrated Applications and Embedded Systems laboratories.

              The department has a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sapience Consulting, Bangalore and EdGate Technologies, Bangalore under Texas Instruments University Program.

              All the class rooms of the department are well equipped with high-end LCD projectors along with internet facility (wired and wi-fi). The department is also having 24/7 internet and research lab facility.


PEO-1: To enable the students learn the fundamentals of Electronics and Communication Engineering very conceptually so that they can continuously update themselves in the context of growing technology.

PEO-2: To make the program rich in core subjects so that the graduates in Electronics and Communication Engineering can fit themselves in any relevant industry (or) pursue higher learning.

PEO-3: To introduce many soft electives in the program so that the students can grow in the field of his/her personal interests and cross-migrate if they chose so.

PEO-4: To make the program accommodate very general subjects like environmental sciences, Professional Ethics etc., so that the Electronics and Communication Engineering graduates develop a broad and soft Personality useful to the community in general.


  1. Be on par with those from any advanced institution and to take up any job either in the core industry (or) in allied disciplines.
  2. Fit to write any competitive examinations for getting selected to undertake relevant career at a high end.
  3. Develop a techno ethical personality to serve the people in general and Electronics & Communication Engineering in particular.
  4. Enable the students adopt themselves in any socio-technological situation.
  5. Develop communication and leadership skills so that the candidates in their future become leaders in the industry & academia.
  6. Make students do projects either of fundamental nature (or) of the ones useful to industry such that in either case they enter the frontiers of research.
  7. Have a basic capability to analyze and /or design an electronics and Communication system and be useful to the community in general.
  8. Function effectively as an individual and also as a member and leader in diverse teams.
  9. Communicate effectively problems of his discipline to the experts of other disciplines.
  10. Have sufficient working knowledge in IT tools for him to correctly model the system and predict the solution.
  11. Prepare for a life-long learning in the broadest context of technological changes.
