Departmental best practices

  • Conducting seminars, Industrial visits, film shows, technical symposiums (Yantraa’08 and ’09) and guest lectures by academic and industrial experts
  • Following the effective teaching and learning process through out the year/ sem
  • Maintaining the contributed department library by the students for the needy and poor students
  • Handling most advanced and practical oriented optional subjects for final year students
  • Arranging practical oriented software training and demonstrations for the students and faculty by the internal and external faculty
  • Took academic membership and alliance from NAFEMS, UK and Institution of Engineers (India), Kolkata at national and international level and conducting various programs through these associations.
  • Robo club is initiated to strengthen the dept in Mechatronics area.

Student activities.

National Level Students’ Symposiums, YANTRA-08, and YANTRA-09  were organized in October 2008 and September 2009 respectively.  Mechanical Engineering Students’ Association (MESA), and student chapter of the  Institute of Engineers (India) [IE(I)]-[code:516] were launched with active enrolment of the students. Students have registered for membership in ISTE, a corporate institution.

  • Short term training program  on “Engineering Applications of finite Element analysis Using ANSYS 10.0” was conducted.
  • Training program was conducted for 4 weeks on ‘CATIA V5 software’. 150 students were given  hands-on training on CATIA software.
  • Six –week short term training program on “Engineering Applications of finite Element analysis Using HYPERMESH” was conducted.
  • Started  a “ROBO CLUB” on 23/10/09.  80 students were motivated and  trained in ‘Designing a robo programs and MEMS’.

Faculty Development Activities:

  • *Attended a short term program on “Computational fluid Dynamics” at NIT Warangal in January, 2007 for two weeks and in May 2007 for one week.
  • * Attended Engineering congress conducted at NIT Warangal from  December 12th to 15th, 2008
  • Attended a workshop on “Opportunities of getting R&D funds for educational institutions” at Anna University, Coimbatore in October, 2009
  • *Attended Indo US Collaboration Center for Engg Education (IUCEE) training program in “Teaching Methodology” in July, 2009
  • *Attended Engineering congress conducted at NIT Suratkal from  December 10th to 13th, 2009
  • Delivered a lecture, in ISTE STTP on MEMS at NIT, Warangal, during  12th - 17th March 2007
  • Acted as a judge in National level contest for students in KSRM Engg College, Kadapa in April, 2007
  •  Co-chaired the session in National conference at NIT, Warangal on ‘Simulation and Modelling’ in April, 2007
  • Delivered a Guest lecture in STTP on Modeling and simulation of Engg systems during 7th - 19th July, 2008 at NIT, Warangal
  •  Chaired the session for “modeling in ICONICE” conducted in JNTU, Hyderabad in Dec 2007
  • Delivered an expert lecture in symposium of Instrumentation Society of India, IISc, Bangalore, organized at Andhra University, Vizag on 9th Dec, 2008
  • Selected as Reviewer for the Journal of Mechanical Engg, published by Institution of Engineers (India), Kolkata for reviewing the technical papers.
  • Board of Studies Chairman (Mechanical engg division) for Yogi Vemana University, Kadapa for two years from 2008 –2010.
  • Selected as Chairman, Institution of Engineers (India), Kadapa Local Center, Kadapa for 2009 and 2010 years. Conducted six all India workshops, two each in the districts of Kadapa, Anantapur and Kurnool from Jan 2009.

Community services programs

  • Counseling classes are conducted in August 2008 to different faction groups of people to make them realize the value of friendship and reduce the conflicts in faction background village Gunekanapalli by showing videos and through skits and patriotic songs
  • Donated school bags and T-shirts (Quantity of 100 each) to Orphanage school in BAKRAPURAM, PULIVENDULA in September 2009.
  • Blood donation camps are conducted on 25-01-09 and 15-08-09
  • Plantation  was organized by the final year students to reduce heat around workshop & Academic block-II in the year 2007.
