Mechanical engineering department started functioning with under graduate program since the inception of the college in the year 2006 with an intake of 60 students and has got a very good reputation. The department has the distinction of organizing the first national level student technical symposium YANTRA08 in October, 2008 and also starting the first students’ association in the college

The department has well equipped laboratories and highly qualified faculty. The department has established new labs to meet the current curricular requirements and has also modernized the existing labs.

The department conducts various student co-circular activities such as student symposiums, workshops, industrial visits, and technical tours. A student chapter of the INSTITUTION OF ENGINEERS (INDIA) [code 516], and Mechanical Engineering Student Association (MESA) are started. The department took academic membership from NAFEMS, an international association for the engineering analysis community.

  • To provide a strong foundation in fundamentals of core subjects so as to understand the basic concepts of Mechanical Engineering and its applications.
  • To provide an awareness on the practical implementation of Engineering Physics in the technological world.
  • To carry out research in Mechanical Engineering field to train Ph.D. students to become good scientists.

  • To develop creative and innovative graduates, technologists of multi faceted personality.

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEO)

P1. To prepare students to excel in undergraduate programmer/ technical profession.

P2. To provide students with a solid foundation in mathematical, scientific and engineering

fundamentals required to solve engineering problems and also to pursue higher studies.

P3.To train students with good scientific and engineering breadth so as to comprehend, analyze, design, and create novel products and solutions for the real life problems through practical experience in workshop and machines laboratory.

P4. To inculcate in student’s professional and ethical attitude, effective communication skills, team work skills, multidisciplinary approach and an ability to relate engineering issues to broader social context.
